Karen Bitzer joined Roach Howard Smith & Hunter in 1987 as Commercial Marketing and Underwriting Manager. She was promoted to Vice President of Marketing in 1990 and in 1999 became Chief Information Officer. She has worked more than 42 years in various capacities within the insurance industry.
Karen has a long and distinguished association with the Dallas Chapter of the Society of CPCU, including terms as director, treasurer, and chairman of All Industry Day. She is also a past chairman of the Marketing Committee and the Information Technology Committee for Assurex Global. She received her CPCU designation in 1990 and her ARM designation in 1999. Karen has served on the Board of Directors for the Independent Insurance Agency of Dallas and served as president of the organization in 2005-2006. Karen currently serves as a board member for XDNet, Inc., a national organization for companies that use XDimensional Technologies – Nexsure agency management system.
