Karen Bitzer Assumes Presidency of the Independent Insurance Agents of Dallas Release Date: 9/1/2005DALLAS Texas – Karen Bitzer partner vice president and chief information officer for Roach Howard Smith & Hunter today assumed the presidency of the Independent Insurance Agents of Dallas. “The Independent Insurance Agents of Dallas is a distinguished organization built on high ethical standards and a commitment to serving our community and our industry ” Bitzer said. ‘I am excited to have the opportunity to work with all of our members and I look forward to serving as president.” Bitzer was elected to the Board of Directors of IIAD in September 2000. She was elected Treasurer in 2003 and president elect in 2004. She has also served as a member of the Automation Committee and as Chairperson of All Industry Day. All Industry Day the largest one-day insurance convention in the U.S. is a joint venture between IIAD and the Dallas Chapter of the Society of Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters and the University of North Texas. IIAD is the oldest trade association in Dallas. It has 138 member agencies and more than 200 associate members. Roach Hunter Smith & Hunter has been a member of IIAD for nearly 50 years.
