Roach Howard Smith & Hunter Celebrates 50th Anniversary; L.T. Barton Turns 60 Release Date: 9/1/2005DALLAS Texas – Roach Howard Smith & Hunter founder Richard Roach sold his first insurance policy in 1955 using the same philosophy that guides Roach Howard Smith & Barton today: Clients come first. Roach's customer-centric focus catapulted the Dallas insurance agency from a one-man shop in the back room of a Garland feed store to a leading independent insurance brokerage firm and an Assurex Global partner. Today Roach Howard Smith and Hunter has more than 70 employees and generates nearly $75 million annually in premiums. Roach Howard Smith & Hunter’s Fort Worth office is also celebrating a significant anniversary. L.T. Barton Insurance which merged with Roach Howard Smith & Hunter in 1998 but still operates under the L.T. Barton name is celebrating its 60th anniversary. The agency was founded in 1945 by L.T.
