Max Smith Named a 2008 Risk & Insurance® Employee Benefits Power Broker

DALLAS, TEXAS – Max H. Smith, Chairman Emeritus and Senior Vice President Roach Howard Smith & Barton (“RHSB”), has been named a 2008 Risk & Insurance® Employee Benefits Power Broker™ in the category of Life Insurance.
In the current issue of Risk & Insurance® the top Employee Benefits Power Brokers were profiled, each one selected based on superior client service in a specific industry segment.
Smith, whose career at RHSB spans more than four decades, has encountered many interesting challenges over the years when it comes to providing clients with specialized insurance products. In a recent case, he was able to provide a client the desired product and premium despite a nearly year-long process involving communication challenges coupled with an unstable stock market.
Smith is Chairman Emeritus and Senior Vice President at Roach Howard Smith & Barton, a leading independent brokerage firm with offices in Dallas and Fort Worth. Smith has accomplished much throughout his tenure with RHSB, including formation of the firm’s Life and Employee Benefits department.
Max has a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation and is a Registered Representative/Mutual Funds. He was named Top Producer for ReliaStar Life for five years and was a Top Ring qualifier for 20 consecutive years.
An active member of the community, Max is past president and current board member of the Garland Chamber of Commerce. He is also past president of both the Garland Kiwanis Club and Garland Pony League.
